Odessa, Texas, is an oil town in the western part of the state. It is the home town of Permian High School Panthers, the football team with the best winning record in the state. Odessa is a racially divided and economically dying town because the decline of the oil business in Texas has set the city’s economy into a tailspin, but there is one night that gives the town something to live for, Friday Night. Well download them here if you miss any of the last episodes.

Football is the one thing that brings all the people of Odessa together, and on Friday night’ s every fall, as many as 20,000 people fill Permian’s football stadium to watch Coach’s boys try to lead the team to victory. The Permian Panthers have a big winning tradition in Texas high school football, led by QB Mike Winchell and superstar tailback Boobie Miles, but everything is not well, as Boobie suffers a career-ending injury in the first game of the season. Hope is lost among the citizens of Odessa, and for the team too but coach works to build a winning team in a town where victory is prized above all else, however, his players struggle through the emotional trials that are common to any teenager and reflect the fact that there is little future in their hometown and that a championship season can be as much a burden as a triumph. The show depicts the daily struggles endured by a coach of a high school team .The stakes are high, the reward is sweet, and the pressure is immense.

Review- May the Best Man Win

April 24th, 2008

May the Best Man Win, season finale of season 2 of Friday Night Lights was aired on Feb. 8. The episode was on of the good shows of season and I also liked this episode because of the cliffhanger it left making us wonder whether Panthers will play again or not. Well, now it’s clear that series will be back for a new season. (Aah! I’m crazy man).

An unexpected pregnancy was an important part of the episode. Jason discovers that waitress Erin is pregnant because of his one night stand with her, several episodes earlier. (If you’ve missed the episode, then, click to watch it online). Jason was just amazed by the fact. As usual, Scott Porter contributes a lot of sincerity to his performance. Smash’s searching for a College football scholarship which turns into something different. Tami’s successful ex-beau comes in Dillon and it makes Coach Taylor jealous. Oh! Yeah, Landry is reminded by Saracen that Tyra is going to dump him. Riggins chases Lyla using some unconventional methods. Chris called Tim and tells him he knew exactly what Tim was trying to do and it wouldn’t work. Because of Eric’s efforts, Smash got a meeting with small Whitmore University who offered him a scholarship. Smash accepts the offer and was found crying later on by his mum.

So, the season 2 ended. It’s good because now we guys will have season 3 on our TV sets and we’ll once again cheer up for Panthers.
